It's always sad to see a game removed from Steam, as people will no longer be able to buy it - at least not with their Steam wallets. It also raises the ever-burning question of whether digital media is better than physical media, especially in the long run. This time, the game to "resurrect" said question is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD - the modern update to one of the best skateboarding classics of all time.

Apparently, the game will disappear from Steam on July 17, and while there is no official statement regarding the reason, the use of licensed music may have something to do with it.

It's not all bad news, though. If you feel like capturing a bit of the magic that made the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games so great, you can get the remake for only $2 up until it's taken down. For a game that has mixed user reviews on Steam, that's more than a fair trade.
