This is the best keyboard I’ve owned, and it’s way better than prebuilts as I can customize it however I like.
My keyboard arrived and is now completed. I am absolutely thrilled with my first foray into custom keyboards! The case is incredibly solid and immediately made every high end retail board I've owned feel cheap and inadequate. This thing is a solid beast! I've built my white ice with the Glorious white PBT keycaps and Everglide Aqua King linear switches (added Zilent 67g tactiles for the spacebar, caps, tab, shift, backspace and Ascend keys) and white coil cable. After adding a Thor's Hammer custom keycap from Etsy, all told I've spent almost $400 US dollars and I'm shocked at how satisfied I am. Custom keyboards are considered THE most wasteful hobby but I am all smiles and completely loving my keyboard. The only complaint I have is that the stabilizers are over lubed and required a bit of extra work to remove some excess. I've owned multiple high-end Corsair, Logitech and Razer keyboards and really enjoyed them all but they absolutely pale in comparison to the satisfaction I feel with every keypress of my GMMK Pro. I hate sounding like a fanboy but I love this thing!
Glorious GMMK PRO 75% Barebone Black
I chose to get to the "white ice" model which I'm sure everyone here knows its basically silver model. Regardless, I love it. Its hefty, the build quality is great, and overall I'm super happy with it. I'm running the GMMK Pro completely stock. I do plan to add some things here and there later but for now I just bought some switches, the Kailh Speed Silver's, and some cheap keycaps off of Amazon. The stabilizers are great considering they come with the board. Glorious did a great job introducing me into the world of keyboards and now I'm looking into what else I can buy. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because of the software. The lighting is not exactly "intuitive" and creating macros are god awful. I'm coming from using a razer keyboard and say what you want about the keyboard itself but in terms of actually using the software... they have things pretty figured out over there. Regardless, I'm confident glorious is working on improving the software side of things. At the end of the day its one good update from being perfect not to mention the GMMK Pro is QMK compatible. Overall I love this and feel like I'm typing on a $500 keyboard right now.
